The Story

A few months ago in an English class at the college I'm attending, we were given an assignment for the duration of the class that was a little odd for an English class assignment but made an incredible impact on my life and the way things went. I found that the more I stuck with the journal, the lighter I felt and the more drive I had to keep pushing through the trials of life. I was noticing all my blessings even in the face of adversity, and some days all it took was the thought of "I'm grateful for..." to get me through. The assignment was to keep a "Gratitude Journal" and the goal was to write just 10 things every day that we were grateful for. They could be important things like "I'm grateful that I was able to save my baby from choking on play-dough." or seemingly silly things such as "I'm grateful for pink lemonade." just for example. When you think about it at first 10 things seems like a piece of cake. Try sitting down and writing 10 things you're grateful for each and every day, even on those "days from hell"...not so easy. Some days I could blaze through the list, and other days I could barely make it to 3 or 4. Sometimes I would just write things to get it over with and not even pay attention to the words and  how truly grateful I was for each of those things.
So in short, the idea and goal of this blog is that every day I will get on here and attempt to write just 10 things I'm grateful for. You can repeat things you're grateful for on other days, but the idea is to try to at least space it enough so you aren't cheating yourself out of things to be grateful for. ;) Here's the twist: I invite any readers to make comments and share 1-10 things that they are grateful for, even if it isn't as often as my posts each day.

Let's get the ball rolling and enrich our lives with an Attitude of Gratitude!
